Ceredigion has recorded over 120 new cases of coronavirus over the weekend.

Eight deaths have been recorded across Wales today along with over 5,000 new Covid-19 cases, according to official data.

Today’s figures, which cover a 48-hour period up to 9am on Sunday, show that 5,161 new cases were recorded across Wales, with the rate of infection now standing at 452.8 cases per 100,000 population.

Ceredigion has recorded 123 new cases today with a massive 417 cases reported in neighbouring Carmarthenshire.

Pembrokeshire has recorded 152 new cases with 149 in Powys and 177 in Gwynedd.

Eight deaths have been recorded across Wales today taking the total number of suspected Covid-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic to 5,699.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the Hywel Dda region, which covers Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, now stands at 495, five more than this time last week.

Betsi Cadwaldr in North Wales has recorded 990 deaths with 68 in Powys.
