Three deaths have been recorded in Wales today according to the latest coronavirus figures.

681 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Wales today with three deaths, taking the total number of coronavirus-related fatalities since the start of the pandemic to 5,623.

The Welsh Government has this week announced that 16 and 17-year-olds will be offered the coronavirus vaccine following the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation latest advice.

Health minister Eluned Morgan said: “The JCVI advise to offer an initial dose of Pfizer vaccine to all 16 and 17-year olds who haven’t been vaccinated.

“This is in addition to the existing offer of two doses of vaccine to 16 and 17-year-olds who are in ‘at-risk’ groups.

“We are now working with the NHS on the arrangements needed to offer the vaccination to all 16 and 17-year-olds in line with the JCVI advice.”

Latest figures show that 64 per cent of the population in Ceredigion has received both doses of the vaccine and 71.6 per cent have received the first jab.
