FUNDRAISERS have helped Bronglais Hospital to buy new electronic stethoscopes.
The hospital has been presented with the 17 top-of-the-range stethoscopes using £5,000 donated to Hywel Dda Health Charities by patients, their families and other fundraisers.
The equipment will allow staff to record and save heart, lung and body sounds from patients as well as transmit sounds to other devices via Bluetooth.
Dawn Jones, head of nursing at Bronglais, said: “These new digital technologies eliminate up to 85 per cent of ambient noise and amplify sounds of up to 24 times their normal volume, which is a real bonus on busy wards.”
