THE future of health and adult social care will be discussed at a public meeting in Llanidloes on 18 February, with a particular focus upon older people.
A timeline and plans for Llanidloes will be unveiled at the public meeting.
Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board will share their vision of health and adult social care services with local residents at the meeting in the town’s church hall tomorrow, Thursday.
It comes following the integration of the county’s health and social care teams for older people in early January.
Joy Garfitt, head of adult social care, and Alan Lawrie, director of primary and community care, will outline plans for an integrated multi-disciplinary workforce for adult social services and health care professionals in communities.
A spokesman said: “By bringing together health and adult social care staff, a more holistic view can be taken of an individual’s needs by placing the person at the centre of every decision, not the systems.
"By joining together teams from both services, they are supported by shared processes and information systems so we can avoid duplication, and improve the experience of our citizens.
“This approach to delivering seamless health and social care services will support individuals to remain at home for as long as possible and maintain their independence.”
Anyone with an interest is welcome to attend, at St Idloes Church, 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, 18 February.
