TYWYN’S long-awaited hospital redevelopment will officially be finished tomorrow (Thursday) – months after its estimated completion date.
Patients from south Meirionnydd will have access to a wider range of services following the £5 million refurbishment of Tywyn Hospital, Health and Social Services minister Mark Drakeford said during a visit.
Work on the redevelopment project was originally scheduled to end last November, but inclement weather and problems with the site’s electrical infrastructure delayed the scheme until spring.
The Welsh Government-funded redevelopment of Tywyn Hospital brings together a primary care centre, a 16-bed ward, social care and third-sector services.
It is due to be fully operational and accepting patients within the next few weeks.
