CEREDIGION has seen no new coronavirus cases in over a week.
The last new confirmed case in the county was on Friday, 8 May.
Public Health Wales, in its daily update today (Saturday), confirmed there have again been no new positive tests in the county. Previously tests were only carried out in hospitals, but now they have been expanded across other settings including care homes and the community.
Ceredigion has had only 38 cases confirmed since testing began, leavig it by far and away the lowest incidence in Welsh counties. The second lowest is 151. The highest figure is in Cardiff, at 1,890 cases.
PHW announced 183 new confirmed cases across Wales today, 18 new deaths; with the total number of cases in Wales standing at 12,142 and deaths suspected of being linked to Covid at 1,191.
Today Powys reported 5 new cases, and its total is now 232. Gwynedd had 6 new cases (total 324); Carmarthenshire’s 18 news cases brings its total to 162; and Pembrokeshire had 2 new cases, bringing it to 263.
