St Padarns
Last Sunday, 25 October, was the last Sunday in Trinity, and the Anglican Church is now looking forward to Advent.
It was also Bible Sunday and this was reflected in the services. At the 11.15am sung Eucharist, the choir under choirmaster Darryl Walters, sang a four-part anthem Teach me o Lord a setting of words from a verse of one of the psalms, by Thomas Attwood.
Next Sunday, 1 November, is All Saints Day and is also the first Sunday of the Kingdom, the fourth Sunday before Advent.
Services will be: 8am, Holy Communion using the 1984 red book setting; 10am, Boreol Weddi and 11.15am, Choral Matins.
The following Sunday, 8 November, is Remembrance Sunday and there will be a united bilingual Service of Remembrance in church at 10am.
Morning Prayer is said bilingually in the Lady Chapel on Monday to Friday each week at 8.45am. All are welcome to our services.
Darryl Walters will be demonstrating his skill on the organ, celebrating the power and majesty of the King of Instruments, with a lunchtime organ recital in church on Tuesday, 10 November, at 1pm.
There will be a retiring collection for the choir’s resources.
