CEREDIGION residents are being asked to suggest ways the county council can make budget savings.

They will be asked if they support cuts to libraries, for example, whether the number of grants to other organisations should be cut and what the level of council tax should be.

The council is seeking answers on a range of potential cost-cutting measures as it looks to find savings of around £25m over the next three years.

Cllr Dafydd Edwards, the Cabinet member for financial services, warned that the council will not have enough cash to provide all of the services it currently does.

That has sparked a council consultation into how it can cut costs or raise income.

Cllr Edwards said that following a restructure of the council in 2013 and cuts to a range of services, the authority has already made savings of £20m in three years, but is expecting even further pressures.
