Residents have complained that an area of Penparcau has become “like a jungle” of brambles and grass and have urged Ceredigion County Council to clear it.
The area of land beyond the Penrheidol estate close to the walk into Aberystwyth from Penparcau opposite the popular allotments has become “wildly overgrown”, a Penparcau councillor has said.
Cllr Lloyd Edwards said that residents are becoming “upset” at the state of the area.
“It’s like a jungle of bracken and bramble and thistles,” he said.
“People have complained to me and to the council but it seems it is being left like this.
“I understand it is one of the areas that is being left to natural habitat, but it still needs to be looked after and it looks like it has gone too far.
“The council has to trim and cut the area.”
The area has seen grass and brambles grow to over head height in places.
Ceredigion County Council has been asked to comment.
