Snowdon in North Wales is the UK’s most Instagrammable mountain and features in the top 10 best-rated peaks overall.
Holiday cottage company Sugar & Loaf reveals Snowdon is the most Instagrammable UK mountain, and Y Garn and Cader Idris are amongst the most ’loved’ peaks in the UK.
Having reviewed 120 mountains across the UK to collate the data, the results the top 10 most Instagrammable peaks are:
- Snowdon, North Wales (386,041+ hashtags)
- Beacon Hill, Mid Wales (266,989)
- Ben Nevis, Scottish Highlands (190,383)
- Pen Y Fan, South Wales (133,971)
- Ben Lomond, Scottish Highlands (93,833)
- Scafell Pike, Lake District (70,583)
- Helvellyn, Lake District (67,063)
- Kinder Scout, Peak District (54,672)
- Pendle Hill, Lancashire (45,026)
- Catbells, Lake District (44,253)
Great Gable in the Lake District was crowned ‘most loved’ mountain in the UK, based on reviews mentioning ’love’ or ’favourite’, with The Skirrid in South Wales and Helvellyn also in the Lake District also making the top three.
The top 10 most loved peaks are:

- Buachaille Etvie Mor, Scotland
- Y Garn, North Wales
- Ingleborough, Yorkshire
- Stiperstones, Shropshire

Each peak was scored on a number of ranking factors, including the number of excellent/good TripAdvisor reviews, the percentage of family-friendly reviews, those which most featured words such as ‘love’ and ‘favourite’, and the number of Instagram hashtags for the location. The data was then ranked overall to reveal the top 10 peaks to visit in the UK, with Great Gable topping the charts once again:
