FAIRBOURNE residents have been invited to come see plans which will safeguard their coastline for the next few decades.
The Fairbourne: Moving Forward project, hosted by Gwynedd Council, will be holding a public information event on Friday, 22 January in the Friog & Fairbourne Village Hall.
The event will provide an update on the project along with details relating to progress on the Buy-to-Let scheme in the area, defence works at Morfa Friog/ Friog Corner and an introduction to the Fairbourne Masterplan which is the plan to support the community over the coming years.
The presentation will be held at two separate times during the day, with the first session starting at 2pm and a later session for those unable to attend the first one, at 6pm.
The multi-agency project will provide an opportunity after each presentation for members of the public to discuss in greater detail aspects of the project on a one-to-one basis.
Representatives from Gwynedd Council, Natural Resources Wales, Arthog Community Council, the Flood Warden Scheme, MEDRA Counselling, JBA Consulting Engineers and Royal Haskoning will be in attendance.
Members of the Fairbourne community are urged to come along to one of the sessions so that they can ask any questions they might have to the relevant agencies attending, as well as contributing to the Masterplanning session and the future of their community.
Fairbourne: Moving Forward is an ambitious project that addresses the complex issues identified throughout the journey of the community over the next 40 years, drawing upon expertise and knowledge from a range of organisations including Gwynedd Council, Natural Resource Wales, the Welsh Government, Royal Haskoning DHV, North Wales Regional Emergency Planning Group, the Emergency Services, Welsh Water and the local community.
