A BLAENAU Ffestiniog cyclist has completed the third and final leg of his epic 15,600-mile cycling adventure across the Americas.
Ian Jones, 44, is riding from the top of North America to the bottom of Argentina — a trip of approximately 25,000km.
Due to financial and time restraints, former professional racer and carpenter Ian separated the demanding expedition into three legs: Bolivia to Ushuaia, the southernmost point of Argentina; Bolivia to Houston, Texas and, finally, from the Arctic Ocean back to Houston.
His lung-busting challenge started last year and, some 18 months later, Ian had completed one of his life goals.
“Well I’m still alive, that’s a start!” the explorer joked.
“It was a brilliant trip, but I honestly believe anyone could do it, it’s just a case of getting on with it.”
On his final leg, the Blaenau cyclist racked up nearly 5,000 miles (4,926) in just 57 cycling days.
