WORK has started on widening a narrow road at the gateway to Penrhyncoch in advance of a new multi-million-pound Aberystwyth University centre being built at Gogerddan.

It was felt that the road between the A4159 Lovesgrove to Bow Street road and IBERS needed widening to cope with extra traffic expected when work starts on the £40m Innovation and Enterprise Campus in the spring, subject to planning permission

The road could remain blocked off and a diversion in place for anything between four and 18 months.
