A hidden gem in the Welsh countryside is fast becoming one of the area’s most exciting new event destinations. Just ten minutes from Tregaron, The Barn at Ffosyrodyn is a 67-acre working farm that blends natural beauty with a thoughtfully designed events space, offering something truly special for both locals and visitors.
Newly renovated in 2022, the venue combines rustic charm with modern functionality, making it ideal for weddings, celebrations, workshops, retreats and cultural events. With capacity for around 100 seated guests, 150 for standing events and as many as 350 people outdoors, the space offers flexibility while still retaining an intimate and welcoming feel.

Set against sweeping Welsh countryside views, the site offers both indoor and outdoor options, alongside high-quality catering facilities and access to local accommodation. The result is a venue that allows guests to create memorable experiences in a peaceful, natural setting.
Owner Alex Dearing, who moved to Ffosyrodyn with her family from Doncaster in 2024, said the decision to take on the site was immediate. “We fell in love with the place instantly and just knew that we had to unlock the potential it was hiding,” she said.

Since opening, the venue has already hosted weddings, markets and private events, and there are ambitious plans under way, including shepherd’s huts and further outdoor experiences.
Ffosyrodyn is also helping to support the wider local economy. With a wealth of talented suppliers within a ten-mile radius, from caterers to florists and decorators, the venue is well placed to collaborate with local businesses and create new opportunities in the area.

Alex hopes the space will become a hub for the community as well as a destination for visitors. “We feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing local producers,” she said. “There’s a real opportunity here to support other businesses and hopefully create jobs in the future.”
When asked how she wants people to feel when they arrive, her answer is simple: “Peaceful and connected with nature.”

With its unique combination of working farmland, a purpose-built events space and stunning surroundings, The Barn at Ffosyrodyn is already making its mark - and inviting others to come and experience it for themselves. Alex and her family are happy to welcome visitors and show them around the site.
