A WALKER has raised over £250 for Abersoch RNLI after trekking over 125 miles around the Llyn Peninsula.

Madalina ‘Maddie’ Parvu completed the 125.4-mile walk as part of the RNLI’s May Day Mile challenge.

Inspired by a recent article about Abersoch RNLI in Abersoch Life Magazine, she set out aiming to do 100 miles and raise £100.

She has smashed both targets by walking, running and cycling around the beautiful Pen Ll?n through torrential rain and glorious sunshine, taking in the stunning scenery and beautiful coastline.

She has received tremendous support from both generous donations and words of encouragement from friends, family and even people she just met along the way.

Abersoch RNLI crew member, and good friend of Maddie, Enlli Williams said: “I’m incredibly proud of Maddie for completing the May Day Mile challenge for our station.”

Maddie said: “To everyone who has supported me, sponsored me, sent me messages of encouragement and kind words, a massive thank you.”

An Abersoch RNLI spokesperson said: “We are incredibly appreciative of everyone’s fundraising efforts and a big thank you to Maddie for getting involved.

“So much of our fundraising has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic all monies raised will help us to continue saving lives at sea.”
