AN angry Aberystwyth couple have said they’ve been left shocked after an opportunist thief walked into their home in Penrheidol, Penparcau, and stole cash and a mobile phone.
The pair, who didn’t want to be named, were out in their back garden on Wednesday evening when the thief struck.
The robbery has been reported to the police, but the couple said they wanted to warn others.
Money had been taken from a purse and a wallet, and the phone taken.
The couple didn’t realise until Thursday because the purse and wallet were left in situ by the thief.
A police spokesperson said: "Sometime between 5.20pm and 8pm on Wednesday, 23 March, a burglary occurred in a property in Penrheidol, Penparcau.
"A Samsung mobile phone and a quantity of cash were removed from the premises.
"Police are investigating, and are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or anyone who any information to contact police by calling 101."
