A PORTHDINLLAEN lifeboat volunteer is urging drivers to be mindful of where they park after a car blocked the main route up to the boathouse, causing an obstruction to RNLI traffic.
On Sunday, 3 September, at around 9.30pm the Porthdinllaen lifeboat crew came across an Audi which had parked on the corner leading up to the barrier to the boathouse, which caused concerns whether they would be able to attend a call-out if needed.
Luckily the team didn’t receive a call-out, but coxswain at Porthdinllaen Lifeboat Station, Michael Davies, is urging drivers to be more aware of where they are parking.
He said: “A car was parked along the narrow lane leading across the golf course to the lifeboat station on Sunday night. Thankfully on this occasion the lifeboat was not called during this time.
“We ask the public to be mindful of where they park their cars along this narrow road because this is the main route used by the volunteers to access the lifeboat station when they respond to a shout.”
