NORTH Wales Police are urging residents to remain alert and report suspicious behaviour following a number of commercial burglaries which local detectives are linking.

The incidents occurred sometime between Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 April.

Sometime between 2pm on Saturday 2, and 8.30am on Sunday 3 April the front doors to Clogau Motors on the A496 at Bontddu, Dolgellau were forced open and a number of mechanics tools and a number plate manufacturing machine were stolen.

Then between 1.50pm on Saturday 2, and 12.30am the following morning a rear window at The Honda Garage at Talsarnau was forced and offenders left with a large amount of Honda branded clothing and merchandise and Nike golf accessories and equipment.

Stolen at the same time was an electric blue Honda Civic type R car index No. CX51 TVT and red Honda 125 motorcycle index CX65 LTY.

Two further burglaries are believed connected.

Sometime between 12pm on Saturday 2 and 12.15pm Sunday 3 April, thieves forced a door to DJ Fruits on the Penamser Industrial Estate in Porthmadog and stole cash from inside.

Then between 4pm on Saturday 2 and 1pm Sunday 3, a front door to Snowdonia Cycles in Llanbedr was forced open with thieves entering and removing a number of adult mountain bikes, children bikes, clothing, camping equipment and cash.

Local Inspector Dewi Jones at Porthmadog Police Station says detectives are now investigating the burglaries and they are eager to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour or activity.

He added: “This type and pattern of crime is not common in the area and we’ll be doing all we can to identify and arrest those responsible.

"However it must also be emphasised that we need assistance from our local communities to both reduce incidents of this nature in the first place and identify those responsible.

“Initial enquiries identify the offences occurred overnight and that offenders will have used vehicles to aide their crime so any suspicious vehicle sightings may help progress our investigation so if you know something please phone in.

"It is worth reminding all house holders to be vigilant at all times, always ensure your property is locked and secured and if you see any suspicious behaviour contact police immediately.”
