TRIBUTES have been paid to a Llangurig teenager who died after his car was involved in a collision with a lorry on the Llanidloes bypass.
David Lloyd, 19, was “much-loved” and will be “sorely missed”, his family said in a statement following his death.
Mr Lloyd died at the scene of the crash on the A470 between Newtown and Llangurig at around 6.40am on Tuesday, 15 March, after his silver Peugeot 207 and a DAF lorry were in collision.
A family statement said: “David was the much-loved son of Roy and Angela, adored brother of Sophie and Gwynie and loving grandson to Gladys and Gwyn Perks.
“He worked at Randall Parker Foods, Llandinam, as an apprentice electrical installer and attended Coleg Powys, where he studied electrical installation.
“David was a keen snooker and pool player and enjoyed spending time with his friends.
“He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.”
Both lanes of one of mid Wales’ busiest roads were shut while emergency services arrived on scene following the crash.
Police are continuing to investigate, and are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact police on 101.
