GRAFFITI vandals have blighted Blaenau Ffestiniog over the festive period.

In recent weeks a slew of public and private buildings have been ‘tagged’ by vandals, most notably the new public health centre which is being constructed.

The criminals have sprayed a series of words and phrases ranging from ‘April’ and ‘What’s up?’ to a series of rude drawings and profanities.

Gwynedd councillor Mandy Williams-Davies is upset by the acts of vandalism.

“It’s very frustrating, especially when we have projects that look like their progressing but then suffer a setback such as this,” she told the Cambrian News.

PC Jess Whiteley of North Wales Police said: “Between 1am and 1.20am on Friday, 16 December, graffiti was written on buildings and boundary walls of the Old Community Hospital off Wynne Road.

"If you witnessed any suspicious activity in the area please contact North Wales Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number RC 1611 1178.”
