LIFEGUARDS rushed to the aid of a tourist who had fallen and hit her face on rocks at Borth beach last week.
RNLI lifeguards Lisa James and Harry Dennis were alerted to the woman’s fall by her son at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, 2 August and, after carrying out an initial assessment, Harry and Lisa carried the woman to safety because the tide was quickly coming in.
The woman, who was in her 40s and from Germany, had fallen on rocks close to the base of the cliff, hit her nose and fallen backwards into a rock pool after trying to get back up.
The woman was complaining of dizziness and sickness so lifeguards called an ambulance.
RNLI Lifeguard Supervisor for Ceredigion, Michael Vincent, said: “Lisa and Harry showed good awareness during this incident.
“Not only did this woman need treatment to her face and legs after a nasty fall, she was displaying signs of concussion.
“On top of that, there was the risk of tidal cut off so the lifeguards needed to move her quickly and safely back up the beach to continue her treatment.”
