A MAN who sparked a search in Aberystwyth involving armed police officers and a helicopter has been given a caution.
Armed officers and a helicopter were mobilised on Monday after what police described as a “disturbance” in the South Road area of the town.
But despite all the resources used during the search, police insisted the public had no cause to be alarmed and on Tuesday afternoon confirmed that a 21-year-old man arrested was given a caution on Monday evening.
A spokesperson said: “A 21-year-old man from Aberystwyth was located at 8.40pm and arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and harassment.
“He was released from custody on 14 August and given an adult caution.”
