Police have closed a road in Gwynedd after a vehicle struck a bridge.

North Wales Police issued the information on Facebook, warning people to avoid the are. The post states: “The road is currently closed on the A497 at the junction of the A498 in the Porthmadog area, due to a vehicle striking a bridge.

“Please avoid the area, thank you.”

The bridge is believed to be the Penamser Bridge.
