Aberystwyth RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew have been tasked six times in the last eight days, responding to a variety of incidents ranging from just inside Aberystwyth Harbour to 16 miles out to sea.
The busy period has seen the volunteer crew respond to a wide range of taskings, including searches, incidents involving vessels and a rescue involving a dog that had fallen off of Constitution Hill.
The six taskings have taken the crew across the waters around Aberystwyth, with the furthest incident asking the lifeboat to travel approximately 16 miles offshore, while the closest was just within Aberystwyth Harbour.
The week has also gave opportunity for crew member Madeline to respond to her first shout since joining the afloat crew, marking an important milestone in her RNLI journey.
Lifeboat Operations Manager Geraint Wheeler said: “It has certainly been a busy week for the station and one of the busiest periods we have seen in recent history. Six shouts in eight days is a significant commitment from our volunteers, particularly alongside their work, studies and family lives.
“The variety of incidents we have attended this week really demonstrates the range of situations our crew can be called to. From incidents within the harbour to 16 miles offshore, every shout presents its own challenges.
“A huge thank you goes to all of our volunteers who have dropped what they were doing, or got up in the middle of the night, to respond to these calls. Their dedication and hard work is what allows us to provide an our reliable search and rescue service from Aberystwyth.”
RNLI volunteer crew remain on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to respond whenever they are needed.
