A fire near Pwllheli continues to be monitored by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS).

The fire on Rhiw mountain has been burning for two days.

NWFRS said they had experienced a high volume of calls relating to the fire and thanked the public for their concerns. “We’d like to reassure the public that our firefighters are in attendance and are dealing with the incident,” they said on Sunday.

Commenting on the incident today (Tuesday, 18 August), a spokesperson for NWFRS said: “We have one crew in attendance at the fire at Mynydd Rhiw, Pwllheli monitoring hotspots and flare ups.”
