SOME historical relics from Ceredigion Museum came alive on Tuesday, 10 January, as two 19th-century shells were safely detonated by the Bomb Disposal Unit.
The rifled muzzle loader shells were discovered in the 1880s on Gwbert beach by the Harbin family of Ty Gwyn farm, and have been kept in the museum stores for the last 10 years.
The shells were taken to Borth beach and safely detonated by the Bomb Disposal Unit from Gloucester.
