I feel this 2020 Christmas time is one of the most important times ever in my lifetime to give thanks not only to our magnificent dedicated health care workers but also to our other dedicated band of workers our carers.

Carers of all ages, including young children, give up their time and own lifestyles to care for those they love.

There is also a sincere thank-you due to our much-underfunded local authority social services department for the work of their carers. They are doing a sterling job in this pandemic and at risk to themselves.

The county council organising so many adaptations to dwellings to make life easier for the elderly and infirm - which can so easily be taken for granted - is also a blessing very much appreciated.

There is so much for so many of us to be grateful for that I cannot think of a more appropriate time than now to express these thanks.Thank you to all involved.
