Cyfeillion Bronglais League of Friends (CBLF) has donated £4,000 to HAHAV.
The money will be used by HAHAV to support its dementia cafe, Caffi Cofion.
This weekly afternoon tea provides a warm and welcoming space for people living with dementia and their carers, offering friendship, comfort and valuable social connection.
“We were delighted to support this important initiative, which plays a meaningful role in the wellbeing of local families affected by dementia,” a spokesperson for CBLF explained.
Caffi Cofion volunteer Jenny Ward explained what the donation means for the project, and how the money will help people in need.
She said: “It has been going for quite a while, at least five years. We started before Covid, and we’ve met every Wednesday afternoon to try to enhance or help people who have got dementia to understand what’s going on, and also to give their carers a bit of respite so that they can help with their relative or friend.

“We do lots of activities, and this money will help a great deal with in that we give people an afternoon tea, and we also take them on trips, and we have speakers, so this will help a lot. Thank you very much.”
If you or someone you care for is affected by dementia, HAHAV volunteers would love to welcome you to their weekly Afternoon Tea experience at Plas Antaron, which is provided to the public free of charge.
Relax and unwind while the piano plays, and enjoy the food and drink.
“Each week we’ll round off the experience with an activity – it might be a guest speaker, arts and crafts, musicians or some relaxation therapy,” a HAHAV spokesperson said.
“Carers will have a chance to meet and chat with other carers, to share experience, advice and tips.”
The group meet on Wednesday (2pm-4pm) at HAHAV’s Plas Antaron building in Aberystwyth.
