Aberystwyth Town Council is set to pay hundreds of pounds for a “high quality book” to “hold the poetry of the current and future Town Bards.”

Introduced last year, the town council pays £1,000 a year for its town bard - currently Eurig Salisbury - to write poems for events.

Now councillors want to produce a book “to serve as a historical asset, lasting many decades”, with quotes obtained from a bookbinder of around £600 to make “The Blue Book of Aberystwyth.”
