AN ADVENTURER has completed an epic 7,000km cycle around the coast of Britain.
On Saturday, 15 September, Allie Short, 23, completed her cycle around the island’s coastline in Aberdyfi five months after setting off from the pretty coastal village.
Allie, who wanted to test herself physically before heading to London later this month to start a Masters degree, started the challenge on 7 May and ascended over 68,000m on her mammoth ride – almost eight times the height of the world’s highest mountain Mount Everest.
Allie lives in Shrewsbury but has been travelling to Aberdyfi throughout her life with her parents, making the village the ideal place to start and finish her epic trek.
It was a solo challenge for the 23-year-old which saw her wild camp in some of the UK’s most inhospitable spots, including the Hebrides and Orkney in Scotland.
