Residents of Llanddewi Brefi have expressed anger at the number of heavy timber lorries passing through their village.
They claim between five and 10 45-tonne lorries travel through the village each day, and have caused cracks to appear in houses and represent a danger to children walking to the village play area.
Now, Ceredigion MP Ben Lake and local county councillors will attend a meeting in Llanddewi next Wednesday to discuss the issue.
The lorries are understood to belong to Pontrilas Timber, of Hereford, but they could not be contacted for a comment.
Resident John Collins told the Cambrian News: “These lorries can come through here any time between 3.30am in the morning and 10pm at night.
“Apart from waking people up, they’re also causing cracks in our walls.
“An egg stand was hit by the back of a trailer and a steel bollard across the road from me has been damaged.
“There’s a big gouge in a telegraph pole and damage to a roadside bank.
“There are also ruts in a road that wasn’t designed for vehicles of such a size.
“One of the lorry drivers told me he did not want to drive up this hill again because it was just too dangerous.”
