A LLANDDEWI Brefi woman has raised over £1,000 for the Wales Air Ambulance by asking friends and family for donations instead of presents for her 90th birthday.

Bet Davies recently celebrated her 90th birthday and asked that her friends and family gave a donation to the Air Ambulance rather than personal gifts.

Mrs Davies and close friend Eirwen James are pictured presenting a cheque for £1,030 to Aneurin Roberts, community co-ordinator for the Wales Air Ambulance in Ceredigion.

“This was a lovely gesture and the sum raised is very substantial indeed,” said Mr Roberts.
