TAITH olaf y mis aelodau Clwb Cerdded Stiniog fydd dydd Sul yma fel rhan o daith Marathon Linda; gofynnir i’r aelodau i droi i fyny ger Ty Gorsaf am 9yb.Mae esgidiau cryf, dillad addas a phecyn o fwyd yn hanfodol i’r daith. Ar y penwythnos gyntaf mis nesaf byddant yn treulio tair noson yn Arfordir Penfro.

Elected

COUNCILLOR Annwen Daniels who represents the town’s Bowydd and Rhiw ward on Gwynedd Council has been elected vice chair at the recent annual meeting of the Gwynedd Council.Siop Siarad SIOP Siarad, the Welsh learners social group’s next meeting will be held at the Bridge Cafe on Saturday, 28 May at 11am for a cuppa and a chat. Fluent Welsh speakers as well as the learners are invited to attend.

Clwb Merched

GWRAIG wadd cyfarfod Clwb Merched nos Fawrth oedd Gwenda Grifiths o Dolsarnau yn dangos sut i osod blodau.Cafwyd noson ddiddorol yn ei chwmni a bu mor garedig a rhoi dwy fasged o flodau i raffl y clwb a enillwyd gan Ellen ac Ann. I orffen y noson cafwyd paned gan Lena a Carys a bara brith gan Carys.Enillydd raffl y noson oedd Glenys, rhoddedig gan Lowri.

Gallery

THE Maenofferen Gallery hosts an archive created exhibition which is art inspired by the archives collection and it involves the work of Reginald Hallward, Rhian Haf and Morgan Griffth. It is on show until 1 June where after which the local Camera Club members’ work will be on show.

Choir

IT was a busy few days for the Moelwyn Male Choir conducted by Sylvia Ann Jones and accompanist Wenna Francis Jones as they were in concert at Betws y Coed on Friday evening with Glyn Jones the compere. Then on Sunday they took part in the annual Singing Festival held at Bowydd Chapel and on Tuesday they were to entertain a coachload of visitors at a Betws y Coed Hotel.

A REPRESENTATIVE of the Citizens Advice Bureau will be available to discuss any relevant issues at the library on Mondays (except Bank Holidays) between 10 am and 1pm and no appointments are needed to be seen.

DYDD Sul cynhaliwyd cymanfa ganu undebol yr ardal yng Nghapel Bowydd gyda Tecwyn Williams yn llywyddu a’r arweinydd oedd Meinir Lloyd Jones o Benrhyndeudraeth a Wenna Francis Jones yn cyfeilio.Bu i Lowri ac Awel Jones gymryd y gwasanaeth agoriadol ac yn bresennol oedd disgyblion ysgolion gynradd lleol a pharti Ysgol y Moelwyn dan arweiniad Osian Burrough a’i unawdydd Tomos Heddwyn ac yn cyfeilio oedd Wendy Jenkins.Hefyd yn bresennol oedd y Côr Cymysg dan arweiniad Wenna Francis Jones a’i chyfeilydd Alwena Morgan; Côr Meibion y Moelwyn a Chôr Merched Rhiannedd y Moelwyn – y ddau gôr yma yn cael eu harwain gan Sylvia A Jones.Y cyfeillion oedd Wenna Francis Jones ac Awen Davey. Diolchodd y llywydd i bawb oedd wedi cymryd rhan a gwneud y gymanfa yn un mor dda.Yn ystod yr oedfa gwnaed casgliad at Ambiwlans Awyr Gogledd Cymru.

Sports

THOUGH the first team season is completed the Blaenau Amateurs FC Reserve side still have a few games to go to end their campaign.The first was an emphatic 5-1 home win over Glan Conwy Reserves last Monday with Tomos Williams scoring three goals and Jack Diamond with two. Bro Ffestiniog XV have gained promotion back to the WRU Division 1 North next season following their last match emphatic 43-0 win over Flint at Dolawel on Saturday.Blaenau Bowling Club had two matches in the North Wales League last week the first at Rhos Park A on Thursday evening which ended in a 11-1 defeat with Steven Jones their sole winner and on Saturday they were back in winning form beating Bangor by 9-3 at home thanks to wins by Dylan, Elwyn, Steven and Ken Jones, Martin and Jason Hughes and Aled Owen.Their next match will be home to Llanrwst on 28 May and this Saturday Martin Hughes and Mike Burgoyne will be playing in the qualifying rounds of the Welsh Merit event.

Angling

TWENTY-FOUR junior mem-bers took part in the Cambrian Angling Association’s annual Alfred McAlpine Project Services Challenge Cup competition held at Ffridd Lake on Sunday.Seventy two fish were presented at the weigh in and in the under 10s age group the winner was Erica Sandland with five fish at 7lbs 14ozs including the heaviest fish caught at 3-12.In second place was Tomos Gethin with 3 at 4-15 and third was Cian Fazakerley with 4 at 4-3.The Challenge Cup winner was also the 11-16 age group winner namely Enya Hughes with 8 at 11-14 with Dyfan Morris with 9 at 10-0 in 2nd place and Aled Sion with 6 at 7-12 in 3rd place.
