A LONG-awaited fun day is finally taking place in the Ffestiniog area tomorrow (Saturday).

A new event in Blaenau Ffestiniog that was scheduled in July, but was postponed due to bad weather, will make its inaugural appearance after weeks of anxious waiting.

Bwrlwm Bro, organised by Y Dref Werdd and GISDA Cyf, is a fun day aimed at families to celebrate the wealth of projects and work that is going on in the Bro Ffestiniog area.

On Saturday, 17 September between 12-6, the park in the centre of the town will play host to several different activities for families to come and enjoy, and is free of charge.

Y Dref Werdd staff, along with support from GISDA Cyf, have been busy preparing for this new event.

On the day, local bands will be performing along with OPRA Cymru.

Y Dref Werdd themselves will have several different exhibitions including energy saving demonstrations and promotion of their environmental work over the past year, whereas GISDA Cyf will have their food van present, as well as selling popcorn, craft activities and their forum theatre group.

Cellb, fresh from opening up their new cinema, restaurant and bunkhouse accommodation, will be there doing cooking demonstrations with their new chef, there will also be bushcraft sessions, members of Snowdonia Market, slate splitting demonstrations and an array of other activities.

Additionally, especially for children, Groundwork North Wales are attending, promoting free play with their interactive sessions.
