NEWCASTLE Emlyn will host an appetising event on Friday, 17 March, to promote the use of the Welsh language in the workplace.
The title of the event, which will see a mix of business and communication through the medium of Welsh, is Business Breakfasts and this will be held in Ty Croeso in Newcastle Emlyn.
According to Nia ap Tegwyn, one of Menter Gorllewin Sir Gâr’s development officers, using Welsh in business is crucial.
She said: “Businesses are one of the target areas of the Initiative and we are eager to assist and support businesses in the area to use and increase the use of Welsh and demonstrate the benefits of doing so.”
This is not the first time for the Menter to hold such an event.
“We organised a business breakfast years ago as part of the Welsh Language Board Campaign “Wythnos Cymraeg yn Gyntaf” and was a great success and we hope for the same kind of response this time. One will be held at Newcastle Emlyn and one in Carmarthen so as to appeal to a wider area,” added Nia.
When organising an event like this, Nia hopes to raise awareness of the benefits of using Welsh in business.
“In addition to raising awareness, we also want to increase the interest in the use of the language. There are many ways to promote Welsh in business without it being costly even if the business owner is not fluent in Welsh,” said Nia.
If you would like to join in the event, contact Nia on 01239 712934 or [email protected].
