A café in Bala is set to be given a new licence allowing it to offer alcohol, live music, films and theatre at the premises, along with late opening until 1am.
Gwynedd Council’s Central Licensing Sub-Committee will consider a bid for the licence at Y Hwb café and children’s play area this Friday.
The application, presented by Zoe Rachel Hansford Smith, will include the sale of alcohol on the premises, film showings and drama staging, live and recorded music and dance performances.
Recommended for approval, the proposed amendments would see plays and films, both indoors and outdoors, permitted between 9am and 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays and until 10pm on other days of the week.
Live and recorded music, meanwhile, would be allowed until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays and 11pm on all other days, with alcohol served both on and off site until 1.30am and 11pm respectively.
However, following concerns, a compromise has been reached where outside entertainment would only be permitted until 7pm at the latest.
