A LLYN woman has taken part in a gruelling 50-mile bike ride to thank the hospital staff who cared for her late mother.

Ann Charles Owen, from Sarn, took part in the LifeCycle bike ride organised by the North Wales NHS Charity, Awyr Las, raising £600 for Moelwyn Ward, Ysbyty Gwynedd, where she says her late mother, Nanw Williams, received “wonderful care and treatment” in the days before she passed away.

The bike ride was from Caernarfon Slate Quay to Black Rock Sands and back.

Mrs Owen said: “Our family will be forever grateful for the care our mother received on Moelwyn ward in her final days.

“Not only was the care she received excellent, but the way we were treated as a family was also very good.”

The money raised will help fund recliner chairs for the ward to aid the comfort of patients and their families.
