A MOTHER of two from Y Ffôr who launched her own fake tanning product range this year has been named Business of the Week.

Shoned Owen, who works as a sports development officer at Gwynedd Council, has always been a tanning fan but admits to have never found the right product that was right for her.

This led Shoned, 40, to decide to set up her own business supplying salons and shops in the Dwyfor and Meirionnydd area with her own professional solution and brand – Tanya Whitebits.

Her business has gone from strength to strength in the last few months and she has recently been named as BrightPig’s Business of the Week which is chosen by BBC’s Dragons’ Den Theo Paphitis.

Shoned said she was delighted to be named business of the week.

She said: “I’m over the moon as it’s my first business award!

“It couldn’t happen at a better time when business is booming over Christmas and recognition of my product has meant the world to me.

“It’s not easy juggling a family, full time work and an additional business so this has given me a massive boost.

“I believe in the product and this award has helped me believe in myself, I’m very proud of my achievement.

“I have been awarded with a business of the week page from BrightPig; it was an honour to be chosen by them as they are an award-winning marketing company who have over 74.8k Twitter followers and they chose me to be their business of the week – it’s amazing!”
