A primary school pupil from Ceredigion could see their Christmas artwork delivered to Buckingham Palace after a competition was launched to find a festive design fit for royalty.

Paul Davies MS, who represents Ceredigion Penfro in the Senedd, is inviting children from primary schools across the constituency to design the front of his official Christmas card for 2026.

The winning artwork will be professionally reproduced and sent to His Majesty The King, alongside businesses, charities and organisations throughout Wales and further afield.

The young artist behind the winning design will receive a £15 book token, while their school will be awarded a £100 book token to support its library, an reward that will provide pupils with modernised literature.

A runner-up design will also feature, and every pupil entering the competition will receive a certificate recognising their efforts.

Mr Davies said: “Somewhere in a primary school in Ceredigion Penfro could be the young artist whose Christmas picture will be heading to Buckingham Palace this year, and I’m really looking forward to finding them.

“We have so many talented and creative young people across the constituency and I want to give them the opportunity to show what they can do.”

He said the competition offered pupils a particularly special opportunity to have their artwork reproduced and sent to The King.

Children are encouraged to use their imagination and create designs reflecting what Christmas means to them.

Entries can be produced using felt-tip pens, coloured pencils, paints or other traditional art materials and should be presented on A4 paper.

Each submission must include the pupil's name, age, class and school on the reverse.

Completed designs should be sent to Paul Davies MS, 20 Upper Market Street, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, SA61 1QA.

The closing date for entries is Friday, 20 November.
