Ceredigion residents are urged to remain cautious over the weekend as “challenging weather may continue to cause issues”.

While some weather warnings may no longer be in force, residents are advised to “travel with caution throughout the weekend” and to be wary of “numerous fallen trees and debris affecting travel”.

Ceredigion County Council reminded residents to plan ahead and to consider whether their journey is essential or not.

The Amber High Impact Strong Wind warning remains in place until 9pm this evening, accompanied by a period of wintry weather, but further yellow warnings are expected to be in place over the weekend.

The council will also be gritting roads this evening, due to potential ice and snow, and again over the weekend as and when needed.

Transport for Wales (TfW) confirmed services will resume tomorrow, but advised customers to check before they travel as disruption is expected to continue throughout the morning.

Services will also restart later than the normal timetable so that damage assessments can be conducted during daylight hours.

Customers making journeys on Saturday may find either their expected journey is difficult to complete or journey times are extended due to speed restrictions that will remain in place due to the weather forecast for tomorrow.

Customers with tickets to travel on Saturday will be able to travel on Sunday, 20 or Monday, 21 February without needing to change or amend tickets.
