NOAH’S Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales recently benefited to the tune of £4,000 from a local presentation evening.
The event was organised by the Rotary Clubs of Machynlleth, Llanidloes and Newtown and was held at The Elephant and Castle in Newtown.
The three clubs work closely throughout the year planning the annual Rotary Across Wales Walk (RAWW) and the presentation evening highlights the rewards of their hard work.
Newtown Rotary president John Evans presented a selection of photos taking the audience from the start on the Welsh coast through to the English border.
The slideshow gave everyone a detailed view of the terrain and showed the amount of people involved supporting the walkers along the 42-mile route.
Guests of the evening included representatives from Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd, who had sponsored this year’s event.
Nick Cleary, of Alun Griffiths contractors, was joined by major projects manager Richard Bruten.
Richard, who walked on the day, gave a speech on behalf of Alun Griffiths contractors and praised the Rotarians on the event’s success.
The Rotary Clubs were thrilled to present a cheque of £4,000 to Llanidloes fund-raising veteran Les Jones, the local point of contact for the Noah’s Ark appeal.
