AMBITIOUS plans to build a cycling track on the King George V playing field in Harlech have been given the backing of a local supermarket.

The Barmouth Co-op store has announced that Clwb Beicio Ardudwy is to be the next scheme to benefit from its Local Community Fund.

The cycling club head coach, Tracey Dawson, uses traffic-free spaces to teach cycling skills to young children and has relied on goodwill and various permissions to use empty car parks over the years.

In the last three years, the cycling club has grown in popularity, so much so that they now need a permanent place for children of all ages and abilities to cycle in safety, including those with disabilities.

This exciting project aims to construct a cycling track on the King George V playing field in Harlech.

It will include portable jumps to help the little ones learn mountain bike skills.

Tracey is delighted that the Co-op local community fund in Barmouth will help raise the £15,000 needed to create this track.
