We all know of the objection for years of drowning Dryweryn on a wall near Llanrystud - ‘Cofiwch Dryweryn’.
To Ceredigion County Council and Aberystwyth Town Council, can we add ‘Cofiwch Southgate’, ‘Cofiwch Tollgate’ now in St Fagan’s. Bring it back. Are you content with removing Southgate’s historical name, replacing it as an extension or suburb of Penparcau? Will you now remove Eastgate and Southgate?
What do you, community and county councillors who represent Southgate, have to say, do you approve? I ask Elin Jones AM and Ben Lake MP for their views, do they approve?
What do you have to say? As I walked through T? Cam towards Neuadd Goffa Park I was obstructed at what was the entry to the park.
We now have the ‘Hub’ within the park, we have Bodlondeb on the land donated, we have Neuadd Goffa on the land.
Unfortunately Bodlondeb was closed. By whom? Ceredigion county council. Why? The entry to Bodlondeb from the lane which goes down from the park to Rhyd y Bont has also been closed and before long it will be overgrown by the hedge where it joins up.
A few years ago, pre-2013, I worked at Bodlondeb and we were given instructions to put a lock on the gate to prevent walkers walking through the ground.
This was used by walkers for years, to the church, the church hall, shop, school. We informed the county council that residents, staff and visitors to Bodlondeb used this entrance daily.
This action by Ceredigion County Council came to an end, they used common sense.
At the bottom of the lane there is a water hydrant, it is the nearest water hydrant to Bodlondeb.Every month I would check that it was not interfered with.
Does the fire service know about this, are they aware, do they have a say in the possible delay to address a possible fire at Bodlondeb, now entry has been obstructed?
I would like to know what Penparcau has left, so that Ceredigion County Council can impose their will on our assets.
Why do we call Penparcau Primary School Llwyn-yr-Eos – unnecessary. Why?
