DWYFOR and Meirionnydd’s MP has thanked the “unsung heroes” who keep coastline safe.
Liz Saville Roberts was one of hundreds of participants who braved the chilly waters around Gwynedd on News Year’s Day to raise money and awareness for the RNLI.
She said: “Every day, local RNLI crews put their lives at risk to rescue others – they are the unsung heroes of our communities.
“There are so many hidden dangers in and around the water. When things do go wrong, it is reassuring to know there is such a dedicated team of volunteers ready to act to help save lives.
“I was honoured to take part once again in the Morfa Nefyn New Year’s Dip, a great community event with proceeds going to support the Porthdinllaen Lifeboat Station.
“It was great to see so many people of all ages coming together to show their appreciation and well done to all who ventured into the water.
“I’d like to pay tribute to all the lifeboat men and women around my Dwyfor Meirionnydd constituency for the service they provide our coastal communities throughout the year.”
