Madam,
The community council ownership of the boat park provides for local residents, holidaymakers and tourists to park boats, canoes, wind surf boards, etc, free of charge.
However, should the lease of the boat park be managed by a commercially interested party then such a lease-holder may, or may not, have jurisdiction over who is permitted to park their boats and other sporting and entertainment equipment in what is currently the community-designated boat park.
Without details of the proposed lease agreement how are the current regular and legitimate users able to assess their position regarding whether or not they will be able to use the facility that they have become accustomed to in the future? Will any potential lease-holder be able to charge for parking, storage or allowing access to the beach through the boat park area? Without detailed clarification of at least the above items and the terms to be included within the lease agreement, the uncertainties will leave anyone interested in storage/parking and access through the area in a position of uncertainty similar to that involved with the Brexit scenario.
Yours etc, Phil Turner-Wright, Dol-y-Bont, Borth.
