THE AVRS held its last meeting in the Legion Hall on 20 March when they were entertained by Andrew Charman speaking about his role as editor of the Narrow Gauge World magazine.
This man combines this with several other roles within journalism and never fails to amuse, inform and entertain. They learned a lot about N G railways both in the UK and abroad, some of which they’d never heard of! They had a gratifyingly large number of members present who thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
They also started taking soundings of which members would like to go on a coach trip to the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway on Bank Holiday Monday, 27 May. If you would like to go, let them know.
The next meeting will be at the usual venue, the British Legion Hall in at 7.30pm on 17 April when Roger Phelps will talk to them about the Dean Forest Railway and other things.
Members, prospective members and visitors will all be welcome.
