THE latest community news from Barmouth
Supporting Amelia
IT IS now 14 months since Amelia left the UK to join Logos Hope, the mission ship of Operation Mobilisation.
She went as a volunteer nursery teacher on the ship, which is visiting Bridgetown, Barbados at the moment.
Apart from her teaching duties, Amelia is a member of the African Choir and clowning group.
She recently spent a day helping with relief work on Barbuda, an island badly damaged by hurricane Irma.
A coffee morning will be held on Thursday, 23 November in the Arts Room of the Dragon Theatre in Barmouth. Contributions of cakes would be very welcome, the event will run from 10.30am until 1pm.
End of the line
AFTER 20 successful years, the Barmouth and District Country Music and Line Dancing Festival has come to an end.
Unfortunately, in the last 21 months, no one came forward to take over the running of the weekend-long festival.
So the committee has decided to divide the remaining funds between six local groups.
The groups are Barmouth RNLI, Air Ambulance Wales, Barmouth and Dyffryn Football Club, Ysgol Feithrin Dyffryn Ardwudwy, Ysgol Feithrin Barmouth and Dyfryn Village Hall.
The committee would like to thank the hotels, shops and caravan sites for their support and especially all the people who travelled from all over the country to attend this weekend event in July.
