Sports
BLAENAU Amateurs FC match at Prestatyn Sports was postponed due to a waterlogged ground and are home to Greenfield this Saturday with a pm kick off.
Next Wednesday evening they will play at Holyhead Hotspurs in a Cookson Cup tie with a 8pm kick off.
Bro Ffestiniog XV were 18-14 home to Llangefni and are home again this Saturday when Nant Conwy will be the visitors.
Parking
THE town council has received information that the 10 per cent parking scheme was now live and that the appliances are being changed to reflect this.
The scheme has been live since August.
Choir
ON Friday evening the Moelwyn Male Choir, conducted by Sylvia Ann Jones and accompanist Wenna Francis Jones, were in concert at Betws y Coed with Gareth Griffiths as the compère.
During the concert they organised a raffle with the proceeds donated to Children in Need.
The choir are at Betws y Coed again this Friday evening.
Councillor
AT the town council meeting the chair, Glyn Daniels, welcomed Gwenlli Evans the new councillor for the Conglywal ward.

Tree
A SHORT ceremony will take place at 4.30pm on Sunday at the Diffwys Square for the launch of the Bro Ffestiniog Remembrance Tree with carol singing afterwards, led by the Oakeley Silver Band and members of the local choirs.
Fair
THE Grandma’s Attic Project held an tabletop fair at the WI hall on Saturday with the proceeds going to Grandma’s Attic community mini bus appeal.
Their Christmas tabletop fair will be held at the WI hall on 15 December from 11am until 2pm.
Planning
GWYNEDD council planning officers are expected to make a decision over the coming weeks regarding plans to transform the former Wynnes Arms in Manod into five self-contained one-bedroom flats, which would be achieved by extending the current building. Six parking spaces would be provided at the site.
The Wynnes has been closed since 2017.
However there is a petition against the flats plan for the site and the result of the planning application will be announced soon.

Funds
THE Blaenau Bendigedig group has announced that its fireworks night at Tanygrisiau raised £180, which will go towards the forthcoming Christmas lights being switched on Thursday, 5 December.
There will be a vast variety of events taking place from an Umbrella Parade to fairground rides, music from local bands and choirs at Diffwys Square.
Rhoddion
CAFWYD rhoddion o dros £3,400 er cof am y diweddar Gwilym Cynfal Price, Dolawel, Tanygrisiau at Clic a Seren.
Band
THE Oakeley Band, under musical director Paul Wilson, won the 3rd prize in their section of the North Wales Brass Band Association contest at Ruthin.
The Junior Band, conducted by Aled Williams, was also placed 3rd in their section.
Remembrance tree
A TREE will be lit in Diffwys Square to remember loved ones and raise money for the local Hospice at Home service.
They hope that the venture will allow individuals to remember any special occasion, such as a commemoration or celebration and to focus on relatives, friends and others or anything special such as marriage, birthday and so on.
The tree will be lit during a short ceremony at 4.30pm on Sunday, 24 November.
You can contribute by completing a form and returning it to the Ffestiniog Town Council Office.
Cheques should be made payable to ‘Coeden Goffa Bro Ffestiniog’.
A book will be located locally to record contribution details if you wish.
The chair of Ffestiniog Town Council will be switching on the lights at 4.45pm.
The ceremony will include carol singing accompanied by the Royal Oakeley Band and local choirs conducted by Sylvia Ann Jones.
The tree will remain lit until the middle of January 2020.
