AT the first meeting in June, members welcomed students from the music department of Ysgol Penglais school with their teacher, Mrs Morgans.

The band called ‘Silent Youth’ played and sang and there were solos from students on the flute, violin, ukele, saxaphone and piano.

On 21 June, the summer coach trip took members to Llandudno.

The meeting on 5 July, was opened by Dave who introduced Janet Bradshaw, Allan and Helen Everard’s daughter.

Janet told them about her 27 years working at Tatton Park in Cheshire and gave a very interesting and entertaining talk on the history of sweets from ancient times to the sweets and chocolates we all remember from our childhood.

Members are looking forward to the annual strawberry tea on 19 July, which will follow a quiz compiled by Dave.

This is the last meeting of the group before the summer break.
