AT the first meeting in November the group welcomed Martine who brought everything needed to get members painting Christmas themes with watercolour paint.

An enjoyable, busy and quiet afternoon followed.

On 22 November, the trip to Telford took place when members had the opportunity to do their Christmas shopping at the indoor shopping centre.

The Christmas tea in the hall took place on 6 December when they welcomed children and teachers from Borth school.

The children entertained members with a modern musical version of the Nativity, an excellent performance.

During the meeting Betty presented Freda with an ornamental glass panel on the occasion of her 80th birthday to say ‘thank you’ from the members for all she has done for the group over the years.

On 13 December, Llety Parc was again the chosen venue for the Christmas lunch which was enjoyed by members and non-members.

Following the lunch the brass band from Ysgol Penweddig with their music teacher, Mr Hassan, played a selection of carols for the group to sing.

It was a lovely start to Christmas.

On a sad note, the group learnt of the death of long-standing member, Dickie Jenkins, who died on Christmas Day.

The first meeting in 2019 was the New Year’s tea on 10 January (postponed from 3 January) followed by a visit to the pantomime Aladdin at the Arts Centre on 12 January.

The AGM will take place on Thursday, 17 January.
